Eiderdown is one of the rarest natural materials on Earth, with a global annual harvest of only about 3,000 to 4,000 kilograms.
To put this in perspective, the entire world’s annual supply could fit into a single small truck.
Unlike standard goose or duck down, which are both by-products of the meat industry, eiderdown is sustainably gathered from wild nests after the ducks have naturally abandoned them.
Each nest yields only about 15 to 20 grams of down, and it takes on average, 50 to 70 nests to produce enough down for just one single-sized duvet
The collection of the eiderdown, along with the cleaning and sorting, is done using a meticulous process which has been passed down through generations and generations of skilled farmers.
The result is a reassuringly priced duvet which represents the pinnacle of luxury for your bed.
